Raise your hand if you’ve ever had the need to take a mental break, and just soak up the sun???
I FEEL YOU!
Lately, that’s been my thing. I’ve been listening to my body, how I’m feeling, and doing exactly what I need to do if I need to feel better. Since I have my own health coaching business, I know too well when my brain just needs “a moment”, a breather of sorts so I can keep on functioning like a regular human being.
For me, that looks like going outside near my pool, feeling the sun on my face and reading a few pages of whatever book I’m reading at the moment. It works like MAGIC! Just 5-10 minutes will do the trick. I usually also have my afternoon snack during this time, and pair it with any of my favorite Organic Sweet Leaf Teas.
Why I Take Breaks
A “break” is a brief cessation of work, physical exertion, or activity. You decide to “give it a rest” with the intention of getting back to your task within a reasonable amount of time. As you may know, taking breaks can help us keep our goals in the spotlight. Aaaaand, anyways, who wants to be glued to the computer, or doing the same task for 10 hours straight? Not me!
Working for long stretches without breaks definitely stresses and exhausts me. That’s why I like to take afternoon breaks to go outside and read… it keeps my mind fresh, helps me tackle my reading list too, lol + helps me be more productive and creative.
…and WHY under the sun!
In the past, I’ve shared why it’s so important to soak up the sun. Vitamin D is crucial and helps us with our overall wellness.
