Heart health is a subject that’s becoming more important for me as the years go by. Both my parents suffer from high blood pressure so I KNOW for a fact that given this scenario, I should be careful with mine too.

As usual —you know me! When it comes to health, I’m all about prevention, instead of reaction. And since many of you have the same concerns and asked me to share some tips, naturally, your wishes are my command!

YES, there are wellness steps we can take to make sure our beautiful heart remains youthful and in top shape and trust me, they’re all SUPER easy and doable. I’m happy to partner with Nature Made® Fish Oil 1200mg Burp-Less to bring you these tips 🙂

5 Wellness Tips For Better Heart Health

1. Eat fiber-rich foods

Fiber is god-sent when it comes to regulating blood pressure and heart health because keep food moving efficiently through your body.

Consuming enough fiber may be easier than you think. Fiber is found in whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables! Didn’t I tell you it was going to be easy?! Make sure to read until the end for the yummiest Chia Seeds Pudding Recipe EVERRRRR! Chia seeds are full of fiber, 10 grams per ounce (about 2 tablespoons), and contain protein and minerals including iron, calcium, magnesium, and zinc.

2. Eat healthy fats

You can, of course, get so many healthy fats from Mother Nature! Like avocados, nuts, chia seeds, and fish. Here’s where Nature Made® Fish Oil 1200mg Burp-Less comes in handy because get this, LIFE GETS IN THE MIDDLE and I know that sometimes having the perfect balanced diet can be challenging… what should not be a challenge is to find ways to support your health goals, so that’s why I will always champion supplementing.

What I love about Nature Made® is that it has NO Color Added, NO Artificial Flavors, NO Yeast or Starch, and it’s even Gluten Free you guys, cause YES there can be such a thing as gluten-derived products in our supplements. Also, their supply only comes from wild caught ocean fish, not farm raised fish AND Purified to remove mercury, which is something very important for me, and I know that it is for many of you too (State-of-the-art purification processes remove PCBs, dioxins and furans, and mercury to ensure purity levels below 0.09 ppm, 2 pptWHO TEQs, and 0.1 ppm respectively.)

Nature Made® supports leading heart health experts who recommend eating 250 – 500 mg of EPA/DHA per day to help support a healthy heart. “Recommend” amount equates to a calculation based on approximately 1,750 – 3,500 mg of omega-3 fatty acids EPA/DHA found in 2 servings of fatty fish per week. Btw, you can get them at Walmart as a single item or Twin Pack (one for home/work, yourself/significant other, or merely “great value”).

3. Alcohol in moderation

Sorry, and please don’t hate me ok?! Lol

In all seriousness, if you drink alcohol, drink in moderation. That means no more than one drink per day if you’re a woman and no more than two drinks per day if you’re a man. And no… Don’t be smart and ask me if you can “accumulate them”, you can’t!

4. Step up your oral health game

I’ve told you before how important my oral health routine is. In general, good oral health is a good indication of overall health… As I studied more and more, I was shocked to learn that those who have periodontal (gum) disease a.k.a. bleeding gums, often have risk factors for heart disease. So, make sure to floss and brush your teeth daily my loves!

5. Hello exercise!

Leaving the best for last… A BIG component of my life is being physically active, so it’s only natural that I would recommend it for you as a step for better heart health. But it’s not only because I say so… according to the American Heart Association 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous aerobic exercise a day, most days of the week, are crucial for heart health. If you can’t get in 30 minutes all at once, you can divide your exercise routine into 10- or 15-minute segments. Just do the best you can, as often as you can.

There are so many ways to squeeze in a great workout! Try kickboxing (if you follow me on Instagram, then you saw me getting my arse kicked last week on my new kickboxing class! Lol), or Zumba if you’re more into dancing… You can definitely try a barre class (I swear by them!) or plain and simple, a good ol’ run… Easy right?!
