5 Easy Ways To Recover From A Sugar Hangover
1. Have a turmeric drink
Turmeric is my fav spice by far + it has powerful cancer-fighting powers and it’s widely known for the properties it has to decrease the level of glucose in the blood, as well as other diabetes-related complications.

2. Drink water with apple cider vinegar (ACV)
Yes! This tip is a killer when it comes to recovering from a sugar overload… keep drinking water with ACV for a full day after your sugar shenanigans (I usually do 1 tbs per 8 Oz. of water). Both the water and the ACV can help balance blood sugar and help your body recover faster.
Seems like a no-brainer, but here I am reminding you again that exercising has SO MANY benefits! One of them is its blood-sugar-balancing benefits.
Our muscles need blood glucose for fuel, which means that when we exercise consciously we are helping move blood sugar from the bloodstream into the muscles where it’s then burned up. So go ahead and get that body of yours moving, and make sure to drink plenty of water!
4. Add cinnamon to your drinks
I love this one because I actually do it every day. I always add cinnamon to my coffee (prior to brewing). But you can actually add it to ANY drink of your choice.
Cinnamon has long been used as a blood sugar stabilizer, and studies have suggested that consuming cinnamon is associated with decreased fasting glucose. So, if you needed more excuses to sprinkle that cinnamon, now you have it!
5. Spend a full day eating plant-based with lots of healthy fats
Eat meals full of leafy greens, and lean protein (tempeh is awesome if you don’t eat meat!) always try to eat as close to mother nature as possible and less processed food.
Make sure to add enough healthy fat to your plant-based meals. Fat helps to balance blood sugar spikes. Now, make sure to avoid refined fats, including trans fats and processed vegetable oils, like corn, soybean, and safflower oils, which can be pro-inflammatory.
Healthy fats I love: avocados, nuts, coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, ghee.
