1. Always include probiotics

2. Start your day with warm water with lemon (and keep drinking it during the day!)

3. Eat lots of fiber

4. Reduce red meat, processed foods, and alcohol

If you’ve been following me for a while, this will not come as a surprise to you. I’m the biggest advocate of reducing or completely eliminating meat from our diet because it causes inflammation. The same goes for processed foods and alcohol… You will be surprised at how flat your belly will be and how much your digestion will improve. It works every time!

5. Cook at home

This one is a no-brainer. When you cook at home, you control what goes into your meals (ingredients, calories, and portion sizes). Cooking can also help you to develop a new relationship with food and can even serve as bonding time with your loved ones!

6. Exercise

Exercising at least 30 minutes a day supports the flow of your lymph system and helps the food travel through your digestive system. You don’t need to go crazy; a simple yoga class or a brisk walk will do!

7. Self-care is a must

Set some time for relaxation into your daily routine, Girl! It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; a simple warm bath can do. Or you can read your favorite book, or if you’re feeling like a rockstar, get yourself a massage!

Believe it or not, digestion is disrupted by stress — which I’m super guilty of, so I’m trying to do better and change that because I can totally feel how my digestion changes when I’m stressed out…. Urrrggg!

  2. One of the benefits of prebiotics is that they feed your own healthy flora. Probiotics are great in theory, but if there is nothing for them to eat they may just die away.
